Missoni & Baiff: The Retrofit That Took Caperdoni to Industry 4.0

Thanks to its extensive experience in retrofits and electronic upgrades for textile machinery, Baiff developed a comprehensive modernization kit for Caperdoni machines. The upgrade included the integration of a new management motherboard for precise motion control, next-generation electronic components and three inverters with integrated safety systems, a 10.2” touch-screen HMI interface with dedicated software for command and design management, and SQL database connectivity for complete integration with company management systems.

The kit was supplied fully equipped with wiring, installation, remote assistance, and CE certification, ensuring maximum reliability and full compliance with current regulations.

In about six months — from analysis and design to implementation — the two damaged machines were restored and upgraded to Industry 4.0 standards.
The success of the initial retrofit prompted Missoni to entrust Baiff with the modernization of the remaining four operational machines, completing the upgrade of the entire production department.

Pleased with the results, in 2022 Missoni decided to purchase eight additional Caperdoni machines, once again commissioning Baiff to carry out their technological upgrade.

Today, Missoni’s Caperdoni machines retain their original mechanical strength while delivering modern performance, connectivity, and precision that meet the highest production standards.
A tangible example of how innovation and tradition can coexist and create value in Made in Italy textile manufacturing.
